What sounds yummier than soft, fluffy, homemade marshmallows? I recently purchased this Martha Stewart special magazine because it has a whole section on felted wool projects (more on that later...)
And, it had a recipe for homemade marshmallows. I've always wanted to try my hand at making them. So, I gathered all the ingredients...
Mixed those ingredients together...
Spread the mixture onto a cookie sheet...
Let it set overnight, and then began cutting...
I wanted to make all sorts of sweet shapes using cookie cutters, but soon decided that square marshmallows are much easier...
It was actually quite easy. I'll definately make them again.
Hot chocolate will never be the same at our house...

UPDATE: The recipe can also be found at www.marthastewart.com. Just search for marshmallow snowflakes.

Oh, wow. I did not know it was possible to make homemade marshmallows! I will be looking for this magazine!

ReplyDeleteThose look great, but are they really that much better than store bought marshmallows? They look like the would be, but I wonder. I may have to try them and see. My kids would be sooo happy.
ReplyDeleteThanks to everyone for your comments.
ReplyDeletesassy mom - What a great idea! I'm sure a couple of drops of food coloring would be a fun addition.

I just have to comment on this b/c I saw those snowflake marshmallows in a MS magazine like 6 years ago. And when my daughter turned 2 (in January) I decided to have a snowflake party for her. I never got to make the marshmallows though...long story...but now after seeing this I WILL DO IT!
